The following is a list of criminal activity occurring in the second district North for November, 2007. This information is provided to NRCA by Captain Brian Burke of the Arlington County Police Department:

Several of the Sexual Battery cases actually occurred in the 1st District, but I wanted to include them so that you can see all of the incidents in the series. Our Sex Crimes (SVU) detectives believe that these crimes are being perpetrated by more than one person. Police resources from a variety of units are out there addressing this.

Burglaries and larcenies from vehicles have dropped way off (for now). This reduction is due, in part, to Detective Guevara from our Burglary Unit identifying and arresting 2 suspects from Maryland that are responsible for numerous Burglaries and the arrest by the 2D Team of a suspect from Washington, DC that is responsible for several larcenies from vehicles.

Please continue to be aware of your surroundings when out in the evening. Do not leave anything of value in your vehicles. Call suspicious persons / activity in to the police.

Happy Holidays!
