Monday Properties, the owner and manager of the building at 1400 Key Blvd, had some delays with their contractor on the replacement of the stairs from the plaza level of the building to the SkyWalk which leads to the metro. The projected completion date of August 17 did not happen. Crews were setting a new set of stairs in place this morning. If all goes well, this safe pedestrian route from Key Blvd to the metro should reopen within days. While waiting for the stairs to reopen you can cut through the building's main level from the SkyWalk to Key Blvd between the hours of 8 am and 6 pm. If you are coming from the metro, just enter the door at the end of the SkyWalk next to the stairs that are under repair. This hallway leads you to the lobby and out the front door onto Key Blvd. | ||||

We have been notified by Monday Properties that repairs to the stairway that connect the 1400 Key Blvd building plaza level to the sky walk leading to the metro have been completed. The stairs are new and much nicer and safer than the original setup. We now have a pedestrian-safe walkway from Oak and Key to the metro and beyond that bypasses the traffic, especially the Ft. Meyer drive high speed raceway. Monday Properties extends a thank you to the local citizens for their patience during this repair period. This message has been edited.
