The Arlington County Civic Federation general meeting this past Tuesday included a session with the Arlington Public School(APS) board (presentations and questions from the floor were excellent). I took the opportunity to speak ‘on the sidelines’ with APS board member Abbie Raphael. I asked about Wilson School. She told me that: 1. APS will not be ready to use Wilson next year. They will offer the current tenants (Childhood Development Center) a one-year lease extension. 2. APS is seriously looking at using Wilson as a permanent pre-Kindergarden education location. 3. Abbie was uncertain about plans for the trailers and the playfield. I take this to mean that we should continue to show our interest in Wilson School and the associated playfield; but, absent major initiative on our part, we are unlikely to get any commitments longer than one year. | |||
