I am delighted to announce that the North Rosslyn Civic Association will host a congressional debate this Sunday, October 24, 2004, at 7:00 p.m. in the Atrium building's community room. All three candidates are expected to participate: the incumbent Democrat, Rep. Jim Moran; the Republican challenger, Lisa Marie Cheney; and Independent Jim Hurysz. This is an extraordinary opportunity for our neighborhood to meet all three candidates and ask questions about how each of them would handle the responsibilities of service in the U.S. House of Representatives. We are honored that the candidates are planning to spend time in our neighborhood, and we hope that we can generate a turnout sufficiently large to demonstrate to all of them the importance of this community to the Eighth Congressiona District. Please make every effort to attend, encourage your neighbors to come with, and think of some questions that you would like the candidates to answer.
