Upcoming Arlington Artists Alliance Exhibits and Shows: "Irreplaceable Hue," November 19 – December 9, at Cassatt's Café, 4536 Lee Highway, Arlington. An appreciation of "Color Field" painting has been observed all year long at various galleries in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. As part of this observance, 21 paintings by members of the Arlington Artists Alliance (AAA) have been selected by internationally-recognized Color Field painter Sam Gilliam for the Alliance show at Cassatt's. The public is invited to meet the Alliance artists represented in the show at a reception on December 2, 4:30-6:30 pm at Cassatt's Café. Arlington Artists Alliance's annual Winter Art Show and Sale, December 1-2 at Fort C. F. Smith Park in Arlington, Virginia. Saturday, December 1, 10 am-5 pm. Sunday, December 2, noon - 4pm. Works by 35 members will include oils, pastels, water media, ceramics, fused glass, and turned wood items. Hear the Star Dust Dance Band entertain with golden oldies 2-4 pm on Sunday. The show features two-dimensional art 8" X 10" or smaller and suitable for holiday giving. Open to the public during Cassatt's regular business hours. The Arlington Artists Alliance is a non-profit association promoting the arts and artists in Arlington County.
