Spring Enjoy Arlington Registration Starts March 12 Check out the new look of Enjoy Arlington packed full of amazing spring classes. Registration starts on 3/12 at 7 a.m. for gymnastics and 7:30 a.m. for all other classes. Look for new classes to hand craft necklaces, earrings and bracelets. Take a digital photography safari with the whole family! Get and stay in shape with a variety of Pilates, yoga, strength-building and cardio classes. Keep your little scientist happy with new robotics offerings. Enjoy Arlington is your go-to for upcoming Arlington Parks and Recreation programs and events including Spring Break Camps. Arlington's March/April 55+ Guide gives you access to a world of fun, fitness, enrichment and social connections for people ages 55 and above and is now available. Don't miss our newest classes including Gentle and Meditative Yoga and Science of Happiness. Stay financially fit with classes to educate on money matters. Feed your brain with knowledge on technology, Medicare, going green, new languages and more. Look out for special event including an Earth Day Nature Walk, Spring Games and Field Day and Trash and Treasure Bake Sale. Free Golf Program for Teens Arlington teens in 6th to 12th grade can learn life skills and leadership through the game of golf---for free—through the First Tee program. Classes start March 20 and will be held on Thursdays from 5 – 7 p.m. at East Potomac Golf Course (972 Ohio Dr SW, Washington, DC). Equipment will be provided and there is free transportation from Thomas Jefferson and Lubber Run Centers (or we can meet you there). Only 13 participants in each session so sign up today. We are offering a great selection of plants that are accustomed to local climate and wildlife. We have natives for sun to shade, even deer resistant plants. Come clean with us–April 26 from 9 a.m.-noon at five locations, along Four Mile Run. Arlington County Park Rangers are calling on volunteers to help clean Madison Manner, Glen Carlyn, Arlington Mill Community Center, Barcroft Park and Shirlington Park. We are working in conjunction with the Alice Ferguson Foundation. Get outdoors and give back to your community, perfect for individuals, families, service clubs and school groups. Volunteers should wear waterproof boots and bring work gloves. Bags will be provided. An adult must accompany children under 16 years of age. He will give you plenty of cost-effective advice to ensure you can manage your lawn and turf grass to help reduce the impact on the Chesapeake Bay.
