Arlington County has made modifications to a press release entitled:

Tuesday, January 14

Public Tribute, 7:00 p.m.

Arlington County Board Room, 2100 Clarendon Boulevard

At 7:00 p.m. tomorrow, the Arlington County Board will suspend its meeting recessed from Saturday and pay tribute to Chairman Charles Monroe. The ceremony will open with an invocation by Dr. Leonard N. Smith, pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church. Members of the Board will then each speak, followed by several additional community leaders. A public comment period will be available for members of the community to briefly share their thoughts. The program will close with a reading by Caroline Hufford-Anderson. Info31, Arlington's government television station, will carry the tribute live on Comcast Arlington Cable channel 31, and by Webcast.

Wednesday, January 15

Viewing, 4:00-7:30 p.m.

Mount Zion Baptist Church, 3500 19th Street South

A public viewing will be held Wednesday from 4:00-7:30 p.m. Due to extremely scarce parking at the church, Arlington County will be providing a satellite parking location and shuttle bus service to the viewing and funeral service. Details will be provided in the near future, and members of the public are urged to take advantage of this free shuttle service. Parking and/or drop-off/pickup accommodations will be made at the church for disabled attendees.

Funeral Service, 7:30 p.m.

Mount Zion Baptist Church, 3500 19th Street South

Drew Model School, 3500 23rd Street South (remote viewing location)

Arlington Central Library, 1015 North Quincy Street (remote viewing location)

The funeral service in honor of Chairman Monroe will be Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Much of the seating in the church will be reserved for family and friends. Members of the public are encouraged to view Info31's live television feed of the service from one of the two remote viewing locations listed above. Info31 will also carry the service live on Comcast Arlington Cable channel 31, and by Webcast.

Funeral Procession, 9:00 a.m.

Interment, 10:00 a.m.
