NORTH ROSSLYN CIVIC ASSOCIATION COMMUNITY MEETING MINUTES DECEMBER 7, 2017 This Community meeting, which was also our Annual or Election meeting, began at roughly 7:10 pm in the Turnberry Tower social room. President Sylvia Kendra presided, with Board members John Hummel, Nicole Merlene, Atima Omara, and Terri Prell in attendance. Elena Chambers was absent. As NRCA members and guests entered the room, they were invited to enjoy refreshments provided by President Kendra. They were also asked to obtain a voting ballot by demonstrating their payment of 2017 or 2018 dues. If 2017 dues had been paid but not 2018, they were eligible to vote and received a ballot, but were invited to pay 2018 dues at that time. All were reminded that, in 2018, the $10 individual dues were abolished and all dues, individual and family, are now $20. The meeting followed a provided agenda, beginning with the election of new Board members. It was announced that there were 2 Board seats open. Member Judy Brand had submitted her nomination to the Board, and current member Terri Prell decided to run for another term. The ballots included a line for any write-in candidates. The voting results were: Judy Brand and Terri Prell were elected to the Board to serve three year terms. One write-in person, US Senator Al Franken, who was not a member, received a vote. The attendees heard reports from the Treasurer, the Urban Design Committee Representative, and the BID Representative. There was a lively discussion of Rosslyn Building Projects and general community issues. The meeting concluded at roughly 8:30 pm. Respectfully submitted, John Hummel Treasurer | |||
