As part of National Preparedness Month, Arlington County is hosting a friendly competition among the County’s Civic Associations to encourage awareness and new registrations on Arlington Alert. The Civic Association with the most sign-ups in the month of September will be declared the winner (there’s a plaque!) and will receive funds for a neighborhood ice cream social ($200 to Baskin Robbins!) Did you know: - There are 22,248 people enrolled in Arlington Alert- only about 10% of County residents. - The Ballston-Virginia Square Association has the highest raw number of enrollments at 1124. - The Old Glebe, Bellevue Forest, and Arlingwood Associations have some of the highest enrollments per capita. - The John M Langston, Douglas Park, and Arlington Mill Associations have the largest potential for growth. Arlington Alert is a mass notification service that allows the county to alert subscribers via text, email or phone. Upon registration, Civic Association residents enter contact information and subscribe to notifications they care about based on location. Need help enrolling? Check out these video tutorials! | |||
