The following is a list of criminal activity occurring in 2D North for October, 2008. There was an increase in Burglaries in the Clarendon area this month. Please do not leave valuables in your vehicles. Call in suspicious persons / activity to the police. ATTEMPTED MALICIOUS WOUNDING-ARREST, 2000 block of Wilson Boulevard. On October 6 at 4 pm, a man was approached by a stranger with a knife. A witness called the police. The suspect was located. Randel Pompper, 49, of no fixed address, was charged with Attempted Malicious Wounding and held without bond. BURGLARY, 1500 block of N. Wilson Boulevard. Between 6 pm and 7 pm on October 1, two laptops were stolen from an office building by an unknown subject. There is no suspect description. BURGLARY, 2700 block of N. Clarendon Boulevard. At 3 pm on October 3, three unknown subjects attempted to break a glass door to a business. The incident was caught on surveillance. One suspect was last seen wearing a long sleeve shirt and pants. COMMERICAL BURGLARY, 2800 block of N. Wilson Boulevard. At 4 pm on October 4, an unknown subject forced his way into a business and stole money. There is no suspect description. COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 3300 block of Wilson Boulevard. Between 9:30 on October 4, and 9:30 am on October 6, an unknown subject entered a restaurant and stole money. There are no known suspects. COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 1500 block of Wilson Boulevard. Between 5 pm on October 3, and 5 am on October 6, a subject entered an office. Various items were damaged and stolen. There is no suspect description. ATTEMPTED GRAND LARCENY AUTO, 3100 block of Clarendon Boulevard. On October 3 at midnight, an intoxicated male got into an unmarked police cruiser and attempted to drive it away. He was stopped by police. Daniel White, 25, of Arlington was charged with Attempted Grand Larceny Auto and Drunk in Public. He was held in detention until he became sober. ASSAULT AND BATTERY OF A POLICE OFFICER-ARREST, 1300 block of N. Wilson Boulevard. On October 8 at 8 pm, police were investigating an attempted larceny. The suspect attempted to flee, but the officer grabbed him, and a struggle ensued. Vincent Marcus Smith, Jr, 22, of Washington, DC, was charged with Assault and Battery on Police, Resisting Arrest, and Failure to Provide I.D. He is being held without bond. CARJACKING-ARREST, 1000 block of N. Highland Street. At 2 am on October 12, as a man got into his car, a stranger entered the passenger side of the vehicle. The stranger then attempted to make the victim drive him away. Alberto Ricardo Rodriquez, 30, of Springfield, was charged with Attempted Carjacking and Drunk in Public. BURGLARY, 2000 block of N. Daniel Street. Between 9:00 am and 5:30 pm on October 9, an unknown suspect entered a residence and took a flat screen TV. There is no suspect description ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 1200 block of N. Rolfe Street. On October 12 at 11:30 pm, a woman walked into her bedroom and found a man attempting to push up the window. The woman yelled at the suspect and he fled the scene. The suspect was last seen wearing a red shirt. COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 1400 block of N. Adams Street. Between 5:30 pm on October 20, and 6 am on October 21, an unknown subject took several large quantities of copper pipe from a construction site. There is no suspect description. ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 2800 block of N. Wilson Boulevard. Between 8 pm on October 19, and 7 am on October 20, a subject attempted to enter a building by prying open a window. No items were stolen. There is no suspect description. ATTEMPTED SEXUAL ASSAULT, 200 block of N. Wayne Street. On October 27 at 1pm, a building manager called police. A housekeeper had reported to the manager that a resident in the building had exposed himself to her, and had also attempted to sexually assault her. The manager contacted police. The alleged incident is being investigated. BURGLARY, 1600 block of N. Wilson Boulevard. Between 6 pm on October 21, and 9 am on October 22, an unknown subject entered a business and stole several laptop computers. There are no known suspects.
