The following is a list of criminal activity occurring in 2D North for August, 2008. Our most significant crime challenges this month were larcenies and burglaries. ** Remember to review the list of road closures on 09/11/08 ** Please do not leave valuables in your vehicles. Call in suspicious persons / activity to the police. ASSAULT ON POLICE-ARREST, 3100 block of Wilson Boulevard, On August 9 at 2 am, a police officer was dealing with several intoxicated subjects when one of them became disorderly. The suspect then assaulted the officer. Mark Raeder, 29, of Washington D.C., was charged with Assault on a Police Officer and was released on his own recognizance. ASSAULT ON POLICE-ARREST, 1300 block of Wilson Boulevard, On August 12 at 3:45 pm, police responded to a restaurant for a man acting in a disorderly manner. When police asked the subject to leave, he assaulted an officer. Erick Anderson, 41, of Washington D.C., was charged with Assault on Police and Fail to Identify to Police. He was held on a $2,500 bond. BURGLARIES, 2000 block of N. Calvert Street, On August 6, between 7:30 am and 3 pm, an unknown subject broke into two apartments and stole numerous items. There is no suspect description. BURGLARIES, 1800 block of N. Scott Street, On August 11 at 1:45 pm, three unknown African American males broke into at least eight apartments. The suspects were chased from the property by a resident manager. Officers established a perimeter and K-9 conducted a track, but the suspects were not located. One male wore a dark gray zip up top, and one suspect wore a gray Nike shirt, all were wearing jeans. BURGLARY, 1800 block N. Quinn Street, Sometime between 6 am on August 2, and 11 pm on August 9, and unknown subject broke into an apartment. Various electronic items were stolen. There is no suspect description. LARCENIES FROM AUTOS, 1900 block of N. Daniel Street, Between 6:30 pm on August 6, and 6 am on August 7, an unknown subject broke into three vehicles and stole various items. There is no suspect description. BURGLARY, 1500 block of N. 16th Street, Sometime between August 10 and 6 pm on August 12, an unknown subject entered an apartment through a window and stole various items. There are no known suspects. ASSAULT BY MOB-ARREST, 2300 block of N. 11th Street, On August 25, at 3 pm, the victim was walking and was attacked by eight unknown men. Victim suffered minor injuries to his face. Police apprehended one suspect. Cain Guevara, 19, of Arlington, was charged with Assault by Mob, and was held on a $3,000 bond. BURGLARY-ARREST, 1800 block of N. Quinn Street, On August 20 at 6:30 am, a man woke up to find his apartment door open and his car keys missing. When he went to the garage to look for his car, he found a subject he did not know attempting to drive his vehicle away. The police responded and arrested the subject. Takeshi Inoue, 31, of Arlington, was charged with Burglary, Grand Larceny, and Grand Larceny of an Automobile. He was held on a $10,000 bond. COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 1500 block of N. Lee Highway, Between 5 pm on August 19, and 7 am on August 20, an unknown subject entered a business and stole laptops. The suspect is an African American male, 6" and 190 lbs. COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 1000 block of N. Wilson Boulevard, Between 10 am on August 23, and 10 pm on August 24, someone entered a business and broke into a coin machine. There are no known suspects. LARCENIES FROM AUTOS, 2100 block of Lee Highway, Between August 21, and 1 pm on August 23, three vehicles were tampered with. Two catalytic converters were stolen, and one was damaged as a subject attempted to steal it. There is no suspect description. GRAND LARCENY, 3100 block of Lee Highway, On August 27 at 3:30 am, a man was seen taking two large flat screen TVs from an outdoor patio at a restaurant. The suspect left the scene in a late model green Chevy Malibu. The suspect is described as a white male, 6'1", with a thin build and dark hair. He was wearing all black clothing. LARCENIES FROM AUTOS, 1500 block of Clarendon Boulevard, On August 31, between 3 am and 8:30 am, an unknown subject broke into five vehicles inside a hotel parking garage. Various electronic items were stolen. There is no suspect description. STOLEN VEHICLES, There were 3 vehicles reported stolen this month. Brian Captain Brian M.
