The following is a list of criminal activity occurring in 2D North for May, 2009. There were no larceny from vehicle series this month, but there were 7 stolen vehicles. The 2nd District Policing Team is working on the following community issues this month: - Night time noise at Summit Village on N. Scott St. - Neighbor dispute at 3000 Spout Run Pkwy. - Speeding vehicles on Kirkwood Rd. - Traffic violations at N. 14th St. / N. Veitch St. - The Clarendon Detail (until July 1st). Please do not leave valuables in your vehicles. Call in suspicious persons / activity to the police. BURGLARY, 05/04/09, 2300 block of N. 11th Street, On May 4 at 3 am, a woman awoke to find an unknown male standing in her apartment. He walked out of the apartment, and she called police. The suspect was a short white Hispanic male with a mustache. He was wearing a white baseball cap backwards, pants and a black shirt. There was no sign of forced entry. BURGLARY, 05/21/09, 1300 block of Wilson Boulevard, On May 21 at 2 am, an unknown subject entered a hotel room and stole items while the victim was asleep. There are no known suspects. ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 05/29/09, 1800 block of N. Moore Street, On May 29 at 6 pm, a woman was exiting the metro when an unknown male tried to grab her phone from her hand. The victim would not let go, and the suspect ran off. The suspect is described as a teenage African American male wearing a white t-shirt and jeans. DISORDERLY CONDUCT-ARREST, 05/31/09, 3200 block of Washington Boulevard, On May 31 at 1 am, police responded for a report of a fight. One suspect was disorderly during the police investigation of the fight. Adam Ortberg, 27, of Washington D.C., was charged with Disorderly Conduct. He was released on a summons. BURGLARY, 05/29/09, 1000 block of Arlington Boulevard, On May 20, between 8:30 am and 3:30 pm, an unknown subject entered an apartment and stole computer equipment. There are no known suspects. GRAND LARCENY AUTO-ARREST, 05/28/09, 1200 block of N. Herndon Street, On May 28 at 4:30 am, a subject stole the vehicle of a person delivering news papers. Officers located the suspect driving the stolen car. Aaron Crafton, 30, of Ft. Benning, GA, was charged with Grand Larceny Auto. He was held on a $3,500 bond.
