Police alert on Metro Assaults

Arlington Police wish to make us aware of a recent and ongoing crime issue. Here is the message sent to NRCA from Arlington Police:

The following cases have occurred in our area over the last several days. Please remember to be aware of personal safety. If at all possible, do not walk alone at night; stay on higher traffic, well lit routes; be aware of your surroundings; keep your cell phone at the ready in case you need to call 911; and please, call in suspicious activity and people. The suspect description in these cases varies. He has been described as a white male and a Hispanic male, stocky build, 20's – 30's, 5'7" – 5'10".


Metro Station Sexual Battery Series

07 11 02 038 Sexual Battery 1900 N Lynn St
Victim reported that an unknown w/m grabbed her buttocks while she was walking from
the Rosslyn Metro station. He followed her for two blocks before grabbing her and then
apologized saying that he didn't mean to do it. The incident occurred on 11/01/2007.
Status: no arrest

07 11 03 002 Sexual Battery 4200 Fairfax Dr
Victim reported that while she was in the 7/11 a w/h/m grabbed her buttocks. She
confronted the suspect and he denied grabbing her. An argument ensued at which
pointed the victim took out a can of pepper spray and attempted to spray the suspect.
He fled at this point.
Status: no arrest

07 11 03 009 Sexual Battery 2100 N 15th St
Victim reported that an unknown male grabbed her buttocks as she was exiting the
Courthouse Metro station. The victim screamed and the suspect fled. She did not
get a good look at the suspect and couldn't furnish a description.
Status: no arrest

07 11 04 005 Sexual Battery 4700 Wilson Blvd
Victim reported that she was walking home from the Ballston Metro station when her
buttocks was grabbed from behind. She turned around and saw the suspect grinning at her
she yelled at him and he fled on foot.
Status: no arrest

07 11 05 045 Sexual Battery 1800 N Highland St
Victim reported that she was walking home from the Clarendon Metro and was in the
above listed location when the suspect approached her from the opposite direction. As
the suspect was passing the victim he grabbed her buttocks.
Status: no arrest
