This neighborhood, particularly the area near the intersection of North Ode St and the 1500 Block of North 19th Street, has become too noisy. People play music on their radios and stereos too loud, people race around in their cars, "laying rubber" and screeching to a halt, honk their horns to let their friends know they have arrived, and people allow their noisy mufflers to go unrepaired. Such behavior is annoying and may be a signal that other activities are occurring. There was even a hit and run accident during the daylight hours on North Ode Street.

The police have been helpful and encourage us to call their non-emergency number 703-558-2222 to report such violations whenever they happen. We know that many people in the neighborhood are bothered by this problem. We recommend that you call the police whenever you hear such noise and urge them to come and confront the violators. The police will keep your identity confidential. We also propose that the association ask that the police patrol the area making frequent and regular visits particularly during the night and drive around or just sit with their windows open (weather permitting) and listen for such violations.
