NORTH ROSSLYN CIVIC ASSOCIATION BOARD MEETING 10 November 2003 ATTENDEES: Stephanie Benefield Paul Derby Ken Marcus John Seal ABSENT: Mark Antell David Lubbs Joe and Vanice Famme The President called the meeting to order at 7:10 pm. Ken Marcus gave the President's report. Ken Marcus reported that he had invited the Code Enforcement representative from Arlington County, Jan Pernell, and the Arlington County policeman, Gary Gleason, responsible for our area (District 2) on 16 November 2003. We probably will not receive long presentations, but will be receptive to answering questions. John Seal and Paul Derby suggested that we send emails to the property managers requesting that they post notice of our meetings to their residents. Paul Derby gave the Treasurer's Report. We have 692.00 income and 74.00 profit for 2003. By the end of 2003, we will have about 185.00 remaining in our bank account. Next year, our expenses will be about 325.00 for the entire year. The 2003 expenses were higher because we had one time fees for the IRS. Paul suggested sending email reminders to all of the members for the 2004 dues. Paul suggested that we meet at Greenberry's or Wilson School and request refreshments from them or other businesses. Ken Marcus said that our Meet the Candidates night was very successful. All of the candidates attended, and Mr. Ferguson said he felt the questions were different from other meetings he had attended. Nominations process is necessary for two directors, Mark Antell and David Lubbs, who are resigning. Paul and Ken will call several people to request their participation on the Board, the Neighborhood Conservation Association and the Civic Federation. Annual Meeting will be scheduled during the first three months of 2004 and we will elect the officers and representatives for the next year. We can request use of the new State Department building or the Rosslyn Renaissance building, and invite the local, commercial businesses. John Seal moved and Stephanie Benefield seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting. The President adjourned the meeting at 8:10 pm. | |||
