MINUTES OF THE NORTH ROSSLYN CIVIC ASSOCIATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING December 9, 2010
The meeting was called to order by President Jennifer Zeien at 7:30 PM. Board members in attendance were Jennifer Zeien, Paul Derby, and Mort Friedman.
Lacking a quorum, the minutes of the previous Board of Directors meetings were not moved for approval.
Jennifer Zeien reported that she will be speaking with Cecilia Cassidy, Executive Director of Rosslyn Renaissance, on December 10 to seek use of some of their resources (such as historical information and photographs) in preparing the Conservation Plan for North Rosslyn and to discuss items of mutual interest respecting the Rosslyn core that should be included in the plan.
Paul Derby noted that the financial report for the Association had been posted on the NRCA Forum. The Association account will have a positive balance at the end of CY 2010.
Although nominations may be made from the floor, NRCA needs to canvass the community seeking candidates for the NRCA Board prior to the 2011 Annual Meeting of the Association in February. Ms. Zeien will send out a call for volunteers and nominations after the first of the year.
The board discussed NRCA’s letter-writing response to two published articles concerning the proposed AHC redevelopment of the Key Boulevard Apartments. It was agreed that more people should be encouraged to write letters to the County Board on this matter, particularly residents immediately adjacent to the proposed construction.
There being no additional business, the meeting adjourned at 8:00 PM.
The next meeting of the NRCA will be the Annual Meeting of the Association on February 3, 2011.
