Report on the Party to Save Wilson School

I think we all had a good time. The maximum crowd was a bit over 100, but with people coming and going, probably 200 people attended.

Food, IceCream, Art exhibits, Decorations, Mongolian Dancers, Fire Dancers, Face painting, Posters, Balloons, Candidates for Election to the County Board, and many many people. Plus special appearances toward the end of the evening by the Arlington Police and the Arlington Fire Department. A good time, and an indication that there's a lot of people in our area who'd enjoy a party now and then on a summer night. We should probably talk with the Parks Department about this.

Thanks (in no special order) are due to:
-Bardia of the Rosslyn Arts Coalition (food, talent, and much more)
-Sarah Lovering and the Capital Fire Arts firedancers (WOW!)
-Nyamka and the Mongolian School traditional dancers (Delightful)
-Patricia and Larry Darneille(ice cream, festive decorations, set up)
-Jane Coonce and the Arlington Artists Alliance (displays, face painting, and consistent support for saving Wilson School)
-Walt Tejada campaign (translation services )
-Stan Karson and Stu Stein (literature distribution)
-Evy Chervenik, Bill Maron (posters)
-Anne Klein (literature distribution and recruitment)
-Steve (custodian at Wilson)
-John Siedel (poster design and production)
-Henrik Sundkvist of Art Outlet (poster design)
-Paul Mulligan, Michelle DeMoor (set up)
-Candidates for the upcoming County Board election including:
-Josh Ruebner, http://arlingtongreens.org/spring07.pdf
-Mary Hynes (thanks for the balloons), http://www.maryhynes.org/index.html
-Mike McMenamin, www.WeLikeMike.net and
-Walt Tejada, http://www.waltertejada.org
I suspect that I end this list too quickly. Get back to me and I'll make appropriate additions.
