'Chat' with APS tomorrow (TH) at Wilson School

NRCA recently received notice that the new Arlington Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. Pat Murphy, will come to Wilson School this Thursday at 7-9 PM to engage with Rosslyn residents about APS services and issues.

Wilson School and playfield remain a crippled and development endangered facility. This ‘chat’ would be an ideal time to remind Dr. Murphy about the community need and desire for play space and a permanent primary education facility at the Wilson School.

Talking points might be:

- Many public minded groups including Arlington’s Historical Preservation Commission, Arlington’s Park Comission, Friends of Arlington Parks, and the Arlington County Civic Federation, have spoken out about Wilson School and playfield as being the recreational and educational heart of the Rosslyn community.

- Absent the Wilson playfields this community has no nearby playfield. A community where children cannot play is child-hostile.

- Every time (yes every time) APS has alienated a property, it comes to regret that loss. Wilson School is a wonderful central urban location. Don’t develop it into office and commercial space.

I’m out of town but I request and encourage that persons who wish to Save the Wilson School will attend this ‘chat.’ Kindly note the RSVP information on the incoming:

RSVP: APS Community Outreach Specialist Dawn Willard at 703-228-2581 or dwillard@arlington.k12.va.us

This summer, Dr. Pat Murphy is holding a series of chats with Arlington County residents.
These gatherings are being held on several dates, at different times and locations, to give Arlingtonians an opportunity to talk with him about a wide-range of school-related topics, and to ask questions or provide feedback in small, informal settings.
The first session is sponsored by the Rosslyn BID and will be held in Rosslyn at the Wilson School, located at 1601 Wilson Boulevard.
Space is limited so reserve your spot early.
