North Rosslyn Real Estate tax assessments and tax bills for 2016 have been established by Arlington County. The Tax rate for property is $.991 per $100 of Assessment. For residential property units within the Rosslyn BID an additional tax of $.078 is assessed for a total assessment of $1.069 per $100 of assessment.

North Rosslyn has 1,773 residential units providing housing for approximately 3,500 residents. Our housing is "high density" with 714 rental apartment units, 862 condo apartment units, 150 townhouses, 41 side-by-side residences and only 5 single family homes and 1 duplex.

The average tax collected each year for each residential unit is approximately $5,300, whether the unit is owned individually or part of an apartment complex.

The property taxes for residential units in North Rosslyn decreased 4.45% in 2016 compared to 2015. Even with this drop, Arlington County collects $10.8 Million in residential property tax that is divided between Arlington County and Arlington Public Schools. Three properties in North Rosslyn are subject to Rosslyn BID taxes, Archstone Apartments, and the Turnberry and Waterview Condos. $465,000 of the levied taxes for these properties is provided to support the Rosslyn BID efforts.

The commercial entities in North Rosslyn pay substantial property taxes, too, so quite a lot of tax revenue is generated in our small area.

The attached document shows details of the residential property taxes including a historical comparison of property taxes paid now compared to 1999. In 1999 North Rosslyn residents paid approximately $1.54 Million in property taxes. In 2016 Arlington County is looking to collect $10.78 Million from the residents living in this same area.
