MINUTES
OF THE
NORTH ROSSLYN CIVIC ASSOCIATION MEETING
2 February 2003

The President called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm.

The President's report included adoption of the bylaws and the meeting minutes for the 17 November 2002 meeting. The directors were introduced:

Ken Marcus, President
Mark Antell, First Vice President
John Seal, Second Vice President
Paul Derby, Treasurer
Stephanie Benefield, Secretary
David Lubs, at-large
Joe Famme, at-large

A Candidate's Night discussion between the Republican candidate for the County Board, Mike Clancy, and the Democratic candidate will be held jointly with the Radnor/Fort Myer Civic Association, probably near the end of February 2003.

The Rosslyn BID committee is planning to include at least one member representing our civic association on its Board of Directors.

Paul Derby gave the Treasurer's Report.

The first guest speaker, Jim Pebley, discussed the history and organization of civic associations in Arlington County.

The second guest speakers, Bill Robbins and Tauseef Ahmad, from Arlington County Environmental Health Bureau discussed the current situation for rats and the West Nile virus in the Rosslyn area.

Paul Derby moved and Mark Antelled seconded a motion that we file a petition with Arlington County to request lighting and repairs on the stairs from Colonial Terrace to Nash Street. The motion passed unanimously. We agreed to send the petition by email to the home owner associations within the North Rosslyn Civic Association within the next week, for signing by the respective Boards of Directors.

Other possible issues, such as a park, additional lighting, tree plantings, and airport noise were discussed.

David Lubs moved and Mark Antell seconded a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:50 pm. The motion passed unanimously.
