Crosswalk across Key Blvd
Several neighborhood residents have approached the county board asking if a pedestrian crosswalk could be designated on Key Blvd that completes the pedestrian corridor that runs from 19th Street to Wilson Blvd. The pedestrian corridor starts at 19th Street, runs alongside the community gardens on the west side of the Key Blvd apartments, continues between the Atrium and Atrium tennis courts, crosses 18th street and runs between Rosslyn Highlands Park and the Wilson School property ending at Wilson Blvd. Adding the crosswalk at Key Blvd would make the 3 block pedestrian corridor complete. Currently there is no crosswalk across Key Blvd so pedestrians take their chances crossing Key Blvd or have to walk a block east to Ode Street to use an existing crosswalk.

The county will place a crosswalk at the location described above if the residents in the area support this idea at the cost of losing one street parking place on the north side of Key Blvd.

Please indicate whether or not you would support this crosswalk installation.

We will run the poll until May 1st. If the community opinion is in favor of adding the crosswalk, we will approach the county to do so after May 1st.I am in favor of adding the crosswalk on Key Blvd to complete the pedestrian corridor from 19th Street to Wilson Blvd.I am opposed to adding a crosswalk at this location.

The votes are in and we received a huge amount of verbal support as well as the positive support with this vote. We will approach the county to set up this crosswalk.
