Voter Photo ID Requirements for November Elections

BRING IT!
What? A Photo ID*
• A Virginia driver’s license or DMV ID card, or
• Any government-issued ID (U.S., Virginia, or Virginia local government) with a photograph, or
• U.S. Passport, Naturalization Certificate, or military ID, or
• An employer ID with a photograph, or
• A student ID card with a photograph from any Virginia college or university, or
• An Arlington Senior ID with a photograph issued by the Sheriff’s Office
Why? The law has changed, and a photo ID is now required to vote in Virginia. Also, be sure you are registered to vote.
When? After July 1, 2014, whenever you go to vote
*IDs with expiration dates must be current or not expired more than 12 months before the election.

If you don’t have a photo ID, you can get a FREE Voter Photo ID at the Registrar’s Office (703-228-3456), starting July 1, 2014. For additional information, go to http://vote.arlingtonva.us/elections/id-requirements/ and http://www.vote411.org/.
