Seeking Host Families for the Arlington Sister City Exchange
Dear Neighbors,

The Arlington Sister City Association (ASCA) needs your help welcoming and
hosting a delegation of visitors from our sister city of Aachen, Germany.

The visit will be for two weeks starting October 3 and ending October 16
and will consist of 10 girls, 8 boys and two adult chaperones. The
students are all high school juniors (16-17 years old).

One of the highlights of the visit is the opportunity for Aachen students
to stay with Arlington families to get to know each other and to see the
American life style. This is where you come in - I would very much like
you to consider becoming a host family.

Knowledge of German is not necessary because all of the members of the
group speak English. In addition, they will have already had orientation
sessions in Aachen to prepare them for the visit. The students are
especially eager to learn more about Arlington and the United States.
Daytime activities are organized by ASCA and will include tours of
Washington monuments and museums, a visit to an Arlington high school and a
few days in New York City.

**** There will be a general interest meeting on Monday, September 10 from
7:15 - 8:15 at the Westover Branch of the Arlington Public Library (1644
North McKinley Road Arlington, VA 22205) for both potential host families
for the Fall and for students wanting to travel to Aachen during Summer
2013. ****

As you may know, Arlington's relationship with Aachen is the oldest of our
sister city partnerships. In fact, this year is the 18th anniversary of
our student exchange with Aachen, and with your help this event will be
another great success.

Clicking the links below will open the Host Family FAQs, the Aachen
Exchange Announcement and the Host Family Application. Please contact me
if you are interested and able help us out with our upcoming student
exchange. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. I can be
reached by email <reidgoldstein@gmail.com> or feel free to call me at my
home phone: 703-271-0431.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Reid Goldstein (Douglas Park)
