-----------------------------------
Adopted Resolution: Prioritizing Green Space as a Community Benefit
Whereas: Site Plan type developments in Rosslyn allow for development density greater (or much greater) than that allowed by-right.
and
Whereas: Developers are required to provide "community benefits" to offset the community impact of development.
and
Whereas: The value of the community benefits is related to the extra value which developers obtain thru the upzoning of their sites.
and
Whereas: We residents of North Rosslyn are the group most affected by development in our neighborhood.
and
Whereas: The lack of green space is deeply felt by North Rosslyn residents.
Therefore: It is resolved that the North Rosslyn Civic Association shall prioritize preservation and/or improvement of greenspace in our neighborhood as a community benefit in exchange for development rights.
