If you think that the flight pattern from National Airport has been
louder of late ... you're right. That was the message that Airport Authority speakers presented to the RAFOM general meeting this evening.
The speakers indicated that ongoing runway repairs tended to push airplanes into a directly overhead flight pattern than previously.
But they also promised relief:
1. Runway repairs should be complete by the end of this year.
2. By next summer new flightpath equipment will be installed in most planes using National. This equipment will help pilots fly over the Potomac rather than over Rosslyn.
