Charlie Brown, Lucy, and the football

The reference is to the cartoon Peanuts where every year Lucy would volunteer to hold the football for a placekick by Charlie Brown. Year after year he’d run up and she’d pull the football out just as he kicked.

Well this afternoon Steve Larson, a senior staffer at Arlington Public Schools, called me to say that there’d be equipment working to remove the unused trailers from Wilson School starting tomorrow (Sunday) with a completion early next week. Hope springs eternal. Maybe it’ll happen.

Even if things go as planned, it would still be just a small victory....one row out of three rows of trailers. Still no long term plans for an elementary school at Wilson. But it would be nice to have at least a small additional green place.
