Dear Code Enforcement,

I am writing this letter regarding the noise exemption request for the relocation of an existing gas main at Lee Hwy & Fort Myer Dr, as necessary to support the continued construction of Dittmar Company’s 1900 Fort Myer Dr Project. The gas main relocation plan is attached as Exhibit A.

The gas main relocation project is anticipated to begin on 10/12/2020 and is expected to take
approximately one month to complete. It is imperative that we complete this work before the VDOT plate moratorium begins in November.

The address of the work site is 1900 Fort Myer Dr, Arlington, VA 22209. The map of the site is attached as Exhibit B.

The relocation work will be performed from 10:00 PM – 5:00 AM Sun – Fri if two lanes on Lee Hwy need to be shutdown. This work will impede nighttime traffic flow and may generate excessive noise during the operating hours. The type of equipment that will be used are backhoe, vacuum excavator, posable jack hammer, tamper, dump truck, and roller for hot mix and milling machine.

Lastly, WGL will notify adjacent civic associations and any affected community residents as necessary.
