Second District (Rosslyn area) Crime and Activity Bulletin - July 2009

The following is a list of criminal activity occurring in 2D North for July, 2009.

We had a spate of more serious criminal activity during July.

Listed below are some of the community issues that the 2nd District Policing Team worked on this month:

- Criminal activity in Woodbury Park.
- Traffic issues along Key Blvd.
- Extra patrols of park areas in Rosslyn.
- Suspicious activity in the area of the Iwo Jima Memorial (in conjunction with the U.S. Park Police).

Please do not leave valuables in your vehicles. Call in suspicious persons / activity to the police.

BURGLARY (SERIES), 3200 block of Wilson Boulevard, Between 10:30 pm on July 2, and 8 am on July 3, an unknown subject broke into three offices in the same building. Various items were stolen. There is no suspect description.

SHOOTING, 2700 block of Clarendon Boulevard, On July 3 at 10:15 am, an unknown man rang the bell at the service entrance to a store. When an employee opened the door, he shot her and fled. The victim received a non life threatening injury to the shoulder. The suspect is an African American male in his 20’s or 30’s, 5’7” to 6’ with a medium build. He was wearing light colored clothing and a dark baseball cap with white lettering on the front.

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 2600 block of Clarendon Boulevard, On July 6 at 6:45 am, a woman walked out of her apartment building and an unknown man in the bushes exposed himself to her. The suspect is a white Hispanic male in his early 30’s, 5’6”, 180-200 lbs. He was wearing dark colored shorts, a grey shirt, and a dark baseball cap.

BURGLARY, 1200 block of N. Rolfe Street, On July 6, between 10 am and 2:30 pm, an unknown subject broke into a residence and stole electronics. There are no known suspects.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY-ARREST, 1100 block of N. Wilson Boulevard, On July 13 at 1:30 am, police were called to a fight. One suspect slammed another man to the ground, causing momentary unconsciousness. Myagmarsuren Bat-Ochir, 27, of Arlington, was charged with Assault and Battery. He was held on a $3,000 bond.

BURGLARY, 2000 block of N. Calvert Street, On July 15 at 3:30 am a woman awoke to find an unknown man in her apartment. When she yelled, the suspect fled, stealing her purse. The suspect is described as an African American male in his 20’s or 30’s, 5’10” and 160 lbs. He was wearing a tan shirt and shorts and a tan skull cap.

SEXUAL ASSAULT, 2300 block of Clarendon Boulevard, On July 16 at 9:30 pm, an unknown man approached a woman from behind and grabbed her buttocks. The suspect was a white Hispanic male, 5’7” with a medium build. He had medium length curly black hair, was wearing all dark clothing, and had a black backpack on his back.

BURGLARY, 2000 block of N. Adams Street, On July 18, between midnight and 5 am, an unknown subject entered an apartment. No items were stolen, and there are no known suspects.

ROBBERY, 1300 block of Arlington Boulevard, On July 20 at 11:30 pm, an unknown man approached a woman from behind and after a brief struggle, stole her purse. The suspect was an African American male, in his early 20’s, 5’8’ to 6’ and 160 lbs. He was wearing jeans, a white tank top with a shirt over it, black shoes, and had dreadlocks.

SEXUAL ASSAULT, 2100 block of Wilson Boulevard, On July 24 at 11:30 pm, a woman was riding the escalator at a metro station when an unknown male reached up her skirt and grabbed her through her underwear. The victim yelled at the suspect and he fled. The suspect is described as an African American male, 25 years old, 6’, with a thin build. He was wearing black sweatpants with cargo pockets, a black shirt, and a black baseball cap turned backwards.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING-ARREST, 2300 block of N. 11th Street, On July 28 at 3 am, a group of five males assaulted another man. One suspect also stabbed the victim superficially while he was trying to run away. Police located four of the suspects. Osman Hernandez Estrada, 33, of Arlington was charged with Malicious Wounding. Cesar Estrada-Aquino, 34; Julio Hernandez-Gonzales, 31; and Merrado Estrada, 40, all of Arlington, were charged with Assault and Battery by Mob. All suspects were held without bond.



LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 1800 block of Key Boulevard and 1700 block of N. Troy Street, Between 11 pm on July 23, and 4 pm on July 24, an unknown subject removed the catalytic convertors from two vehicles in the same neighborhood. There is no suspect description.



STOLEN VEHICLES, There were 4 vehicles reported stolen this month.
